Know Before You Go:

  • Omaha ForUs is located at 3337 N 107th St, Omaha, NE 68104.

  • Parking is located for free in the parking lot in front of Omaha ForUs.

  • The front door of Omaha ForUs is always locked for safety. When you get to the front door, please kindly avoid pulling the door forcefully. Please listen for a slight click, look for the red light changing to green on the black HID reader, and if neither of these things happen within 5 minutes, please call us at (531) 466-1839 to be let inside.

  • If you have: a sore throat, an excessive cough, a very runny nose, chills, nausea, chest pain, or have been sick within the past 24 hours please wear a mask. Masks are available for free at the front door when walking in to Omaha ForUs. We also have free COVID-19 testing strips, tissues, and hand sanitizer upon walking in should you need them.

  • Omaha ForUs has a multi-stall gender neutral bathroom with floor to ceiling doors. There are no urinals or changing beds. There is an accessible stall.

  • Omaha ForUs has a free water and ice machine for public use. Bring your reuseable water bottle to help cut down on single-use plastic!

  • There will not be a meal served. However, there are nearby walkable fast-food restaurants and you are free to eat while inside Omaha ForUs (just clean up after!). There will be light refreshments available as well as access to the Pride Pantry Food & Hygiene pantry.

  • Our clothing closet, Trans Stitchin', will be closing tomorrow from 4-8pm to allow us to do this work. It will be open from 1-4pm. If you would like to shop the closet and know you want to be on the Litter Crew, please arrive before 4pm to do so. Clothing Crew can informally shop the closet when they're working! Litter Crew can shop the closet on May 1st from 1-7pm (or any other day after!). Sorry for the inconvenience!

Event Agenda:

5:30-6pm:

  • Welcome, orientation in the Community Room

  • We will start promptly at 5:30pm. If you have not been inside of Omaha ForUs within the past six months, please plan to arrive no later than 5:20pm to allow for time to register on our Receptionist visitor log-in system.

6-6:15pm:

  • Assign positions/roles, bathroom/water/stretch break

Because this is a dual activity event, the agenda of the rest of the day depends on which activity you are assigned. We will assign each person their positions together at the end of orientation. During orientation, more information will be provided about each activity and position so you can better choose which one you would prefer to participate in.

Litter Crew (limited to 10 individuals maximum):

6:15-7pm:

  • Litter clean-up. There are oftentimes empty small liquor bottles and nicotine vape pens around the Center, as a warning to those whom that may be a concern for.

  • We will start with the immediate green space around the Center, and if needed move as a group down the sidewalk ending around McDonald's and looping back.

  • This route is not accessible. Expect to bend, lift, climb, and walk on grass. Wear comfortable, weather appropriate, clothing and closed-toed shoes.

  • We will have safety vests, garbage bags, gloves, litter grabbers, and a sharps disposal bin.

  • The litter collected afterwards will be properly disposed of in the bins behind Omaha ForUs.

7-7:15pm:

  • Washing/sanitizing hands is mandatory when arriving back to Omaha ForUs.

  • Bathroom, water, stretch break. We will re-group with the rest of the group at 7:15pm.

Clothing Crew:

6:15-7:15pm:

  • Clothing swap-out.

  • We have a back-stock of Spring/Summer clothing in our upstairs storage closet. We will be switching out our current Fall/Winter clothing inventory with the back-stock of Spring/Summer clothing to update the clothing to align with the current season.

  • Expect some light physical activity including but not limited to: climbing a flight of stairs, carrying tubs which could weigh up to 30lbs, bending, folding, and sorting.

  • Wear comfortable, weather appropriate, clothing and closed-toed shoes.

  • Latex and powder free gloves will be available for use when sorting clothing if preferred.

  • You can informally shop the closet when sorting items. Please, if you see something you want, grab it! Our goal is to lessen the load on our closet so we can start accepting donations again no later than May 6th!

7:15pm:

  • We will re-group with the Litter Crew.

Both groups will re-group together in the community room at 7:15pm.

7:15-7:30pm:

  • Wrap up & clean up

  • Closing feedback surveys
